  1. tail call optimization is very interesting thing:) most of the time one can bump into such thing while programming in functional or logical languages (Prolog,…) as I did, but apart from that, imagine a cool compiler noticing a return statement only with a lone recursive call, so it can replace the previous call on the stack with this new one 🙂
